How it will be difficult for me to get a teaching job in Denver in the fall of 2008?
I have 25 years of age. I studied for two years met protective action in Chicago before graduating with honors from SUNY Geneseo in May 2007 with a BA in English and my state of New New York certification in secondary education. After graduation he moved to Japan, where I am currently working full time as a teacher language assistant through the Board of Education of the city of Kobe. I moved to Denver in August. How will it be difficult to get a job as teacher in the Denver area? Sub-question: If I can not find a full-time education Is it possible to live off the salary of a substitute teacher in Denver?
Oh, so painful it may seem, New York state certification reciprocity is unlikely to Colorado (my state of legal residence). Each state has its own requirements. This means you probably will a little training of students and take some courses selection (need to check with the Education Commission Colorado for details about what they have done). Replace teaching can help but not pay the bills. Denver is a big city, but hey, no market in real time. You should begin this process now before the end of the 2007/2008 school year and see what comes to open in fall 2008. Your chances are good if you meet with the certification requirements of Colorado.
