battleships after WWII?
I need to research battleships after WWII but I am having a really hard time finding any besides the USS Alabama (SSBN-731) and USS New York (LPD-21)
Anyone know any more?
HI
You’ve got a problem, you asked for battleships and you show a submarine (SSBN) and an Amphibious docking ship (LPD), I was on the Juneau LPD 10, or are you just looking for US war ships?
See the attached link to assist with your research.
The last battleship in commission by the US Navy was the Missouri BB-63, all battleships have the designation BB before the hull number.
You will find very few battleships after WW II, they weren’t made anymore, the second list provided will show all battleships of the US and when they were commissioned and decommissioned and what action they were involved in.
The USS Iowa BB-61, USS New Jersey BB-62, USS Missouri BB-63 and USS Wisconsin BB-64 were the last 4 battleships in commission, the Missouri was the last to be decommissioned, 31 March 1992.
Good luck on your research, take a look at the last site, it really has a lot of information on the battleships of the US.
