What if I do not renew the lease?
My contract expires September 30 At this point I have not renewed my lease. This is a private building with low rent-stabilized apartments in New York. I will buy a house and will close on October 3 Mangement Construction has said there is no month to month and my only option would be to renew the lease where I would be liable for rent during the time of my lease. (11 months worth rent). What would happen if I stayed in October and pay the rent. I can not get out before (I have no where to go and I have a child with special needs). Any advice would be appreciated
Give notice now, pay rent, and everything should be OK. Do not delay notification.
