New York asked for a newcomer?
I can do a 3 day trip to New York in August, I come from Boston with my mother and my daughter 5 years age. I plan to move to New York in December to attend Brooklyn College. So I have the intention to visit the Children's Museum and the Brooklyn College and Harlem and Brooklyn. Can you give me a place to stay (hotel / motel) for cheap for 3 of us. I think that might remain from Thursday to Sunday. Can you give me some places to go and eat (in Brooklyn and Harlem) are not too expensive. Can I locate a store near a hotel / motel or in Harlem and Brooklyn? I do not know much about New York at all. I lived in Massachusetts for 23 years and is the first time I set foot outside of my state. We will take the Chinese bus Boston.
A perfect condition, if cheaper, hotel is the Holiday Inn Express on Union Street, on the outskirts of Park Slope, Brooklyn. Park Slope is a complete kind of things that make children but this place, I fear, is the dirty side of the slope. No matter – you can walk up the hill from the actual area of Park Slope. (There was even a bus in the middle of the slope which left around the block from the hotel, but had just been arrested last week in budget cuts!) There is a subway train in Manhattan right at the corner of Union Street and 4th Avenue, just steps from the hotel door. A good supermarket right next door is the key food on 5th Avenue between Calle Baltic Sea and Butler. In addition, your daughter loves the fact that there is a great Italian ice cream / ice (with wonderful taste weird) right on Union Street just above the 5 th Avenue. This is known as Uncle Louie G (a franchise of a chain of local small – large) is also a wonderful, if you buy expensive, frozen yogurt called Oko on Fifth Avenue between Douglass and Degraw. Unfortunately, it is not easy to get to Brooklyn by subway, unless you are on the same line where you go. It is much more easy to get into Manhattan (the system is set up that way.) can be a bit of a chore to go to the two Children's Museum and the Brooklyn College from there. Not a good bus children's museum, but you have to walk up Fifth Avenue to get there. And you have to take the subway and change to go to the University of Brooklyn. Go to Hopstop.com to find the best decisions in these areas. (I must admit that I have a car and usually drive the two places.) However, you can find many things to do in Park Slope for your little one. Check the actions of two 5th Avenue and 7th Avenue. Also, you can go to the Brooklyn Museum and the Botanical Garden. Still again, that same bus would have stopped to take to these places, but it disappeared. But you can walk or take a car service for short distances. In addition, Prospect Park is just beautiful!
