Relocating to NYC from NC?
I will be relocating hopefully Jan-Feb 08. I am a MBA and have all my working experience in banking/mortgages. However I will like to get into any other field in banking and not mortgages since this industry is not doing so well. How quick can I find a job over there? Can apply from NC and get an opportunity to interview from here? Does anyone know of any good headhunters in NYC than can help me? Is Staten Island a good choice to live or Astoria?

well i live in Staten Island and my dad actually lives in Roanoke Rapids, NC. it depends on what city in NC you live in, Staten Island is the most quiet borough in NYC but you need a car to get around anywhere and getting into Staten Island would cost you a $9 toll. i think Astoria, Queens would be a better place for you to live tho Staten Island is cheaper Astoria is a lot closer to the city. as for finding a job your best bet is to post your resume on sites like monster.com and hope for the best. i dont really know about getting a interview in NC for a job in NY but it’s possible if the bank your interviewing for in NY also has a branch in NC, you might be able to get a interview through the phone mayb.
