Is the recycling of the City of New York plastic bags of purchase?

¿I can put plastic bags (high density polyethylene type 2) in recycle the plastic tray in New York? We did not find any information on the DSNY website. Thanks in advance! Did not see any recycling bins for use NYC plastic bags. (No Walmart here either) So, what stores were collected plastic bags? They are sent to private recycling plants?
