Do I have to pay New York State surcharge on medical bills?
I have had many medical expenses in recent years. I have an HMO, and my insurance has paid the agreed rate, and I paid my part, which is $ 75 for visits to the emergency room, $ 100 for hospitalization and surgery. Only twice in the many times I've been accused New York State supplement: once in my real participation of $ 75.00 (although I was in the hospital seven times and never have other add this to my Share ER) at present a bill was paid at the rate agreed, and now is the hospital currently takes me about 10 thousand, plus the surcharge of New York State about $ 850. This does not seem right. Anyone know where I can find this information, or know how you are supposed to work? Thanks!
Yes, I think you are responsible for paying the surcharge. If there have been cases in which they were not invited to pay, I think you just got a break. Do not look a gift horse in mouth!
